| It was the 'first' whole-school-day for Isaiah yesterday, Thursday, since Ivy's departure back to Philippines in the early morning of Wednesday. Without a helper any more, Isaiah encountered the first mis-catched mess in living necessity... didn't get his lunch at all. I was out of town with Debbie in Taichung, Thomas thought that I'd ordered lunch box from school for Isaiah regularly and thus didn't prepare nor deliver it to him.
What a pitiful kid! Meanwhile, fortunately, though he didn't dare to inform the teacher of his embarrassing situation, his classmate did it for him. And then, the teacher provided him the lunch belong to someone else who took sick leave that day. He didn't have to be hungry for the rest of a day...
Before falling into sleep, he asked me whether I am "capable" to cook any food for the family. Why, I asked back. Then, he told me what happened to him this day and how worried he is about if we will be dying of 'hunger' since so (i.e., Dad is unable to cook, neither is Mom). I tried hard to not laugh too laud, and I told him that we will figure out and work out problems like this together. I am not sure if this worry brought him a bad dream last night, for I forgot to invite him to pray to God together before leaving him in his own bedroom behind me... ...

| May Debbie good luck in 'winning' the game
It is the day Debbie takes off together with her teammates for the Freedoms Cup Pin-pong Competition at Tai-chung (Wu-chi Town). I got up as early as a quarter to 5am, woke her up, and walked her cross street to 7-11 store when the sky was still dark. Debbie looked excited, still, as having been excited for 2 weeks. I thus shared her spirit to be quite energetic though given with sleep less than 4 hours last night. For some reason, I am not worried so much as used to be for this time when Debbie is going to travel alone.
When we met all the teammates and their parents at the bus station, we got a chance to chat with the parents each other. I was impressed that Debbie is the only one who already finished (as completed as should and could) homework for the following days in advance, Tuesday to Friday. The other students are planning to do theirs either after this competition trip or next week, and even some of they are enjoying the out-of-town trip without any thought about homework. Debbie worked hard and independently for the past weekend. Before that, she proactively asked her teacher for assignments list for the entire following week. This morning, she reminded me to pass one piece of homework toward her teacher to ensure everything done on time -- in fact, far ahead of the schedule. Her teacher told me that she was impressed by Debbie with her self-discipline as well as her talent in writing and thinking with early-maturity and sensitivity.
It's the grace of God, I feel so touched and conciliated with the potential and mature behavior Debbie demonstrates. I'm confident that if I can play my role as a mom in accordance with God's guidance, Debbie will definitely turn out a successful and reliable lady in a way pleasing God and people.
No matter what result will be to the competition the kids are joining, Debbie are about to experience something new and different. I pray to God for her with a winning spirit and an enjoyable game (regardless the real score) and also the she may experience God's being with through every critical moment .

| What a good girl Debbie is to me!
Last evening, I fell into sleep when watching TV together with the kids in my bedroom. Debbie turned off the TVand the light, turned on the anti-moskito set, and then closed the door behind her as the TV program ended and she's leaving the room and talking to her father on phone then. It's so touching to see she's trying to make me comfortable without being bothered.
Debbie is always a quite self-discipline person since her baby age. I wish I could be more like her in this sense, and I thank God a lot for giving me a great baby girl like her. However, things turned out that I used to forget to appreciate her with this attribution, but focusing on what capability she doesn't have yet. For the past years, I've been very picky on her. It is so unfair to her and painful to me at this moment in retrospec.
Debbie's good, considerate behaviors reminde me with my vow I made long time ago (and forgot for a long while) that I wanted to be not only a mother for Debbie but also a life-long friend of her, being with and supporting to her whenever she needs as long as I'm alive.
Thank God for allowing me still have chance to fix it up. Hopefully, I'll try the best for a restart to build a wonderful relationship between my daughter and me.
